Alberta Provincial Nomination Program

Alberta is the province of grand history, beautiful climate and geography, hi-tech industries and world-class research intensive universities. It is located in western Canada and is bordered by Saskatchewan and British Columbia. It has public education system and supports the needs of parents, students, teachers and administrators through kindergarten till grade 12. Alberta Provincial Nomination Program is for those who are considering working and living permanently in Alberta.

Due to the peaceful living and exiting professional growth opportunities, the province of Alberta sees a huge rush of applications for permanent immigration. Alberta PNP is an immigration program which is operated on behalf of Alberta state government by the Canadian Federal Government. It is designed to support and encourage Alberta's industrial and economic growth by attracting labour-market-destined immigrants to the state.

Individuals who fit completely into the criterion laid by the Province of Alberta are entitled to apply for a permanent resident visa through Citizen and Immigration Canada as a Provincial Nominee. Their spouses and children can also apply along with them. CIC receives hundreds of immigrant applications each year and expedites permanent residency requests of those who are nominated by the state.

Alberta PNP has the following streams for applicants to apply:

This category was designed for workers who are currently working in the United States on temporary work visas, which include H1B, H1B1, H1C and E3. To qualify under this stream, an applicant should have worked in United States for a minimum of one year and must currently be working in the qualifying occupation. Note that unlike other provincial programs, Alberta PNP does not need a job offer to qualify.

He or she must have some experience of working with an Alberta employer in their trade and should have an invitation from association of Alberta Apprenticeship and Industry Training (AIT).

Engineering Occupations Category

In order to apply under this category, the applicant must currently be residing in Alberta and must have attained a professional qualification as an engineer, designer, or drafter. For any individual shifting his or her base to another country, the next major worry is to sponsor the immediate family.

Canada Immigration
