Manitoba Provincial Nomination Program

Spread in the area of 250,900 sq miles, Manitoba is surrounded by Provinces of Ontario, Saskatchewan, Nunavut and shares international border with US states of Minnesota and North Dakota. According to the latest census, Manitoba has a total population of 1,213,900 and more than half of its people are located in the Winnipeg Capital Region. It is a state which has 12 major lakes and more than 17% which have acquired more than 17% of the total land area.

People can migrate to any of the Manitoba's cities through Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program (PNP). Those who qualify for this program receive a Manitoba Provincial Nomination Certificate, which can be submitted to Canada Immigration and Visa authority for speedy decision on the permanent residency application.

There are five major categories through which a person can apply:

Manitoba PNP Priority Assessment Stream

A person can forward application for the nomination certificate through any of these:

  • Manitoba Employer Direct Stream - For those who can demonstrate their will to permanently settle in Manitoba. Also, an applicant must have undertaken some work in Manitoba for at least 6 months under the temporary visa and should have a permanent job offer from that employer.
  • Manitoba Family Support Stream - The requirements include Affidavit of Support from a close relative living in Manitoba. Close relative can be a parent, sibling, child, cousin, uncle/aunt, niece/nephew, or grandparent. The applicant must be in between 21 and 49 years while applying along with at least 1 year post-secondary education and must have received a degree, certificate or a diploma in that.
  • Manitoba International Student Stream - To apply under this category a student must have graduated from a post secondary program from a reputed school in Manitoba along with applying successfully for a post graduation work permit from CIC.

Manitoba PNP Immigration Program for Business

The Province of Manitoba also encourages people to apply for nomination through the State Immigration Program for Business.

To qualify as a nominee, a person must have visited Manitoba with the intent to establishing a business in the province, and should have personal net worth of at least $350,000 Canadian Dollars.

Along with that the person should make a minimum equity investment of $150,000 Canadian Dollars.

Manitoba Young Farmer Nominee Program

This category is particularly designed for young, energetic and experienced farmers who wish to enter into farming ventures in Manitoba.

Principal applicant must be under 40 years of age at the time of submitting the application and a minimum of 3 years farm management and farm ownership experience.

For any individual shifting his or her base to another country, the next major worry is to sponsor the immediate family.

Canada Immigration

Like many other countries, Canada also follows certain guidelines for family sponsorships. Under this program, close relatives and immediate family of a Canadian citizen or permanent resident can migrate if they comply to few conditions.
